Affiliate disclosure

Short version: HostFees is free because some links on the site are affiliate links. If you click one and sign up or buy, we may earn a commission. It costs you nothing extra, and sometimes the partner gives you a discount.

Software partners

The "Tools that help" boxes on our calculators link to short-term rental software such as channel managers, pricing tools and cleaning schedulers. These boxes are always labeled as containing affiliate links. Some partners pay a flat amount per qualified signup; others pay a share of your subscription for a period of time.

Where we haven't been approved for a program yet, the button simply goes to the company's homepage and we earn nothing.

Amazon

As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases. Buttons marked "paid link" in our guides go to Amazon.

What affiliate links never change

  • Calculator results — the math is the same whether or not you click anything.
  • What we say about fees and platforms.
  • Which items appear in our guides: we pick items for the problem they solve, and include "skip if" advice.

Where you'll see disclosures

  • Every "Tools that help" box on a calculator or explainer page starts with a disclosure.
  • Every guide with Amazon links has a disclosure at the top, and each Amazon button says "paid link".
  • Pinterest pins that link to guides with affiliate links say "Contains affiliate links".
  • Affiliate links are tagged rel="sponsored nofollow" so search engines know they're paid.
