The three rates
- 12% for bookings made through Vrbo's family of sites.[1]
- 12%–15% in some regions, such as Europe, Australia or New Zealand. Vrbo says to check your Owner Dashboard for the rate on your listings.[1]
- 10% if the reservation comes from Vrbo's sites but wasn't booked through Vrbo's checkout flow. That fee is calculated on the rental amount, mandatory fees and withheld deposits, excluding taxes and refundable damage deposits.[1]
What it was before
Software-connected hosts paid 5% before the change, according to Skift, which reports the flat 12% starts on October 29, 2026.[2] The archived help page also listed 12%–15% for some software-connected hosts in Europe, Australia and New Zealand.[3]
What it means on $1,000
| Case | Fee on $1,000 | You keep |
|---|---|---|
| Before Oct 29, software-connected 5% | $50 | $950 |
| 12% (booked on Vrbo) | $120 | $880 |
| 10% (from Vrbo, not booked through its checkout) | $100 | $900 |
| 15% (top of the regional range) | $150 | $850 |
Our arithmetic from the rates above.[1][2] Keeping a $950 payout at 12% means pricing about 8% higher ($1,079.55).
